The state of Texas is divided into 20 Regional Education Service Centers (ESC). Schools located in three of the independent school districts of the largest region—Region IV ESC—were selected as pilot sites for a program designed to increase students' knowledge and understanding of science using scientific inquiry. This chapter features the development and design of the Visual Realization (VR) Program with the main purpose to help students achieve the Changing Emphases for the Content Standards.
