Concepts of scale, extinction, and evidence/inference are presented in an interesting way. I liked the way the teacher took care to explicitly discuss with students what they were supposed to be learning at each station and how the parents helped to make the day successful. The interdisciplinary aspect was also a good way to learn science. I believe any early elementary class could do something like this, and as the author implies, it could be adapted to different themed days/units to present different concepts.
