This article describes inquiry learning that starts with observations of snails and teacher stimulated brainstorming and concludes with students asking questions and designing esperiments to answer their questions. Make a prediction, design an experiment, collect data, analyze and share are all student centered and also, non-harmful to the snails. Snails, like humans, exhibit individual differences and students learn something about human behavioral possibilities, too. Some students may shy away from working with the snails at first, but the science in the activity will draw them into the research enabling a "euuu" to become a "aha!"
