The authors do a wonderful job of describing a community service project in collaboration with local agencies. They tell how the agencies sponsor and support their project, how the community is brought in, how students do their research and tie it into the curriculum and how they have made it a legacy for the 5th grade students. It is exciting that some of the research students has done has been shared at the national level with experts in the field. The information provides a nice outline of how other schools could develop a similar program at any grade level. Wonderful resource!
