This is the “special, special” issue to which so many of us look forward every year. Indeed, you will find the lists of Outstanding Science Trade Book for Students K–12 and Libros de Ciencias en Español in this March issue. Books will always be important to children and it is our responsibility as educators to provide the stimulus and ignite the enthusiasm for reading for our children. This article includes notes from the field editor on the importance of instilling a value in reading and literacy in children.
