What an incredible idea! My first thought after reading this article was how impressive it is that you have such a great science interest at your school. Being able to review student applications and give them the opportunity to take on such a strong leadership role is amazing, especially in fifth or sixth grade. As leaders planning an event, they not only were given an opportunity to extend their own science knowledge, they played a major role in the field day experience for other students as well. As a methods student, I'm not sure I'll have the opportunity to do anything this extensive, but I greatly appreciate and admire the event this school was able to put on. I wish more schools were able to promote science like this!

What an incredible idea! My first thought after reading this article was how impressive it is that you have such a great science interest at your school. Being able to review student applications and give them the opportunity to take on such a strong leadership role is amazing, especially in fifth or sixth grade.
