I have a few questions on how to make science fun and interesting but outside the classroom. What are some outside classroom hands on activities/ experiments that I can do to engage my students?
I would agree with the idea to incorporate gardening as an outdoor activity. Even if your school does not have a lawn or other space, some boxes or a raised bed would work. Gardening can be an interdisciplinary activity with opportunities for real-world experiences. This is a popular topic in the forums! When I was in school we had a classroom garden that managed and had different plants and food in it. We then talked about the plant cycle and even the animal cycle because there were bees, butterflies, and caterpillars that would be in our garden. I had a fun time doing it and it doesn't have to be a huge garden you could probably even do potted plants.
