I haven't seen any lessons or activities that go into depth on photosynthesis. I was wondering if anyone had any fun activities to use to teach this?

I do a lab using phenolphthalein in test tubes. You blow into the water with the phenolphthalein to get it slightly acidic (pink) and then place Elodea into the tubes and let it photosynthesize. The water turns from pink back to yellow, and if you block part of the tube (mine was sitting in a rack so the bottom was inadvertently blocked) part will be pink and part will be yellow. I'll attach instructions and send pictures if you like- I need my work computer for the pictures and I won't be there for a few days.

I use this simulation to look at the effects of light intensity, light color, and temperature. This can be used to get into more in-depth discussions of photosystems, enzymes, reactions, etc.
