First thing, definitely get with your mentor teacher and ask what the students are learning the week you are planning on teaching your science lesson. After you have your topic, (depending on what it is), think about how you would make the lesson engaging with the use of modeling, activities, manipulatives, and technology. These are key elements that work wonders in teaching young students. A great one that a lot of students work on is building a bridge with toothpicks and glue. The goal of the bridge is to see how much weight the bridge can hold. Another great one is when learning about different natural disasters, the students can research a specific natural disaster and create a skit in a small group. I remember working on this and all the students had a great time. They were able to use their knowledge on what they learned with technology, props, and just working with other classmates. I hope this helps!
