What is the best way to introduce chemistry to younger students?

I think the songs & videos :  MEET THE ELEMENTS - by they Might Be Giants is GREAT for younger students!

(And of course there is Tom Lehrer's The ELEMENTS song).

Pass out a periodic table, give a simple introduction to it ; Play these songs/videos (kids can reference & look at their periodic table) ; then play a simple version of Periodic Table Bingo , more Bingo (lots more BINGO sheets available online!)

Hey Donna, I have found some resources that might help you in introducing chemistry to younger students. I also, agree that you cant go wrong songs and/or visuals (Videos or experiments). I always found that they were helpful while I was in public school. Here are the things that I found for you! Hope they are helpful. https://owlcation.com/stem/hands-on-experiments-to-learn-about-chemistry http://www.indiana.edu/~ensiweb/tt.engage2.pdf http://www.proteacher.com/110052.shtml There were a ton of chemistry videos available if you search "fun chemistry videos for younger kids". Good luck!

I think that the best way to introduce chemistry to young children is to have it be hands on.

Can you get samples of some elements (or maybe pictures of elements may be better depending on the age) for them to pass around and then show them where they are on the periodic table? I agree hands on is always best with any age learner.
