Hello, my name is Ingrid Mercado and I am currently in the teaching program. Covi-19 really came to change our daily lives, especially when it came to our education. What has been a great use of technology or program that has helped students become interested in assiting class from home?

Hello! I am currently an education grad student, and I am not currently teaching. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to teach during this pandemic! I applaud you! I am not familiar with a specific program that might be useful, but I am curious what methods you have tried with your students so far to get their interest peaked with at-home learning?

I have seen some teachers doing social studies try dressing up as a historical figure they are teaching on, or having someone else they know do so, to bring the lesson to life! Maybe try creating a story out of the lesson? I am not sure, but I believe this might help to better engage the students and keep there attention on you and the lesson!

Hope this helps in some way!

Hi Ingrid,

Welcome to NSTA! We have a great series of web seminars called 'Teacher Tip Tuesday' that cover a a variety of topics such as using technology. Here is an Archive I think might help: https://my.nsta.org/resource/122585

There are many more web seminars too - check out - https://my.nsta.org/webseminars

Perhaps someone else has some other ideas they could add?
