I am currently looking for Engineering/Design Challenges/Scenarios for K-6. There are many out there for 6-12. The few ones that I have found for Elementary really do not have the students designing or engaging in engineering. Any thoughts, resources, or websites that can be shared would be a huge help. Thanks!

Hello LaToya,
While there are many great online resources (see my list at http://www.cesa2.org/programs/stem/engineering.cfm), I really like Engineering is Elementary. If I taught elementary, I would be investing in a few guidebooks ($50 each). I like the connection to literacy, particularly at the elementary level, and there are great design challenges with a context.

Latoya,
We have lots of K-6 resources and lessons available at our website and Facebook page that might be what you are looking for.
You are cordially invited to explore Get Caught Engineering, a resource site to help teachers and parents connect “classroom learning” with real life applications in STEM: science, technology, engineering and math. Our goal is to provide lessons, blogs, links, and resources for hands-on engineering experiences that excite and challenge elementary children.
Website: http://www.getcaughtengineering.com
And “like” our Facebook page to get continual updates on great engineering and STEM resources:

Great post- following to see ideas.
We have brought in Rube Goldberg during our current unit of energy, we tied it in with City of Ember -great idea I got from NSTA conference last year.
We are also having the kids engineer a hand pollinator for our Structure and Function current focus.
