Wed, Sep 13, 2017 3:33 PM in Gardening in the Classroom
I am a current and a final year Bachelor's Degree student in Elementary Education and I found your forum post very interesting. From a student's view point when it comes to gardening, I have had a couple of student activities that I have done where my previous teachers would involve planting/gardening. When I was in elementary school, my teacher did not make us a garden inside of the cla...

Wed, Sep 13, 2017 2:53 PM in The Total Solar Eclipse of 2017
I stayed here in Miami, FL to witness the Solar Eclipse 2017. Not only was it the first day of my last year of my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, but it was also my 19th birthday! I was at a loss of words when I found out this beautiful gift from nature landed on my special day. I went on ahead and purchased some ISO certified Solar Eclipse glasses for the whole fami...
Mon, Apr 17, 2017 10:45 PM in Class Pet
Based off of my previous experiences from my classrooms from elementary, middle, and high school, I have noted that the most common type of class pet has been fish and gerbils. In my own opinion, I believe that fishes could made good class pets since they are quiet, require one part of the classroom, and require little feeding. These fishes can keep a quiet atmosphere where they ...

Sun, Nov 12, 2017 5:37 PM I love it!
I really enjoyed going over your collection. The first thing I noticed was that you included several types of resources that relate to your collection. I feel that the more resources you have, the more content you will have that can help you develop any future lessons. As I observed your resources, I noticed you began with a "SciPack", which is great because SciPacks are filled with important information that will be very beneficial. I also noticed you have several "Science Objects" that have specific questions geared to what is being discussed in the resource (which I like since it reduces time on searching for what you mostly need). Some of these resources that I am referring to are, "Nutrition: What are Nutrients?" and "Nutrients: What is Food?". Overall, your collection is detailed and filled with several resources I would even use on my own if I were to make my own lessons about "Nutrition". Awesome work!

Food Chain Collection
Tue, Mar 14, 2017 6:40 PM Great Collection Jasmine!
Hey Jasmine! I enjoyed looking through your collection! I noticed that your collection focuses on the "Food Chain". I looked through the articles like "What Does An Animal Eat?" and "Coral Reef Ecosystems: Interdependence". These type of articles will refresh your memory or teach you a couple of new things or two on the topic of the Food Chain. I always think it is a great idea to learn about the topic you are going to teach before actually teaching it, so these type of articles will really help! I also noticed you included articles like "Developing the Essential Features of Inquiry" and "Methods and Strategies: "Inquirize" Your Teaching". These type of articles will help you reach a type of understanding when creating future lessons that involve inquiry. These articles provide examples, scenarios, and reasons on how to implement an inquiry lesson. Maybe next time, you can include more articles focusing on more different animals of the food chain, because the majority of your collection has articles that talk about how to preform your lesson, but those articles are always a good idea to have! Overall, great job with the collection! :)
