I've found that I asserting myself and saying things without hesitation can really help in monitoring and maintain unwanted behaviors in class. When I was in elementary school, the 5th grade classes got a chance to start a community garden funded by fundraisers and volunteer parents. Not only did this give us an opportunity to get outside of the classroom, but it helped us bond, work together, and provided us with a greater sense of school community.
