I completely agree with you. I teach 6th grade, but I still feel like there is so much focus on Reading and Math, because that is what count for AYP, that the rest of subjects get pushed to side. I used the potential energy simulations in the sciguide. Before they played with each simulation I had the student formulate a hypothesis. We talked about isolating one variable at a time, and how to create a hypothesis that would address the variable being tested. I created a worksheet for them.
