Hi there! I graduated from the University of South Carolina in May 2021 with a Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Teaching at the University of South Carolina and my anticipated graduation date is May 2022. Through this program I will be certified to teach middle and high school level science. I have also worked for the University in the Office of New Student Orientation for the past four years, and continue to work there as I finish out my time at UofSC.

What have you found helpful when shifting from standard teaching practices (such as direct instruction), to inquiry-based learning? What have been some of the challenges? What advice would you give to new teachers who want to incorporate inquiry-based learning practices in their classroom?

As a future teacher, this seems like such a great resource our students. I foresee this being a great introductory activity each day to focus the students attention on science and get them ready to learn!
