Marine Science
Broadly titled, that is exactly what you get with this collection: a broad variety of articles and book chapters that span many different aspects of marine science.
Limited in variety of differing text, there are no sciPacks or Science Objects included in this collection, but there is plenty of different marine information. In one article, you can learn about the importance and appreciation of the submarine in the classroom. That sound strange, doesn't it? But it's very exciting. This collection includes articles that offer ingenious ideas for teachers, from artsy models that help students better understand buoyancy, to using authentic research inside the high school classroom, all in an effort to better engage, and thus better educate the students in your classroom.
Looking over the articles, I noticed that not only is the content very broad, so is the age-range. The articles span from being elementary level to high-school level, and in some ways I found that the elementary articles were placed prematurely, maybe without having been read.
This collection might be better for a high school teacher wanting new ideas on how to teach marine science.
Thanks for this collection: I did learn a lot and even found myself curious about how I could bring the world into my classroom, without always having to go there. For teachers who don't have the ability to drive down to the marina or bayside, there are many practical and exciting ways to bring that environment to you!
Help your students engage and help educate! There truly is a "sea of possibilities"!
