Chapter 8 Review
Reading this chapter has allowed me to grasp a better understanding of what global warming actually is. This chapter does well what most articles that I have read does not and that is it is able to clearly explain the concept of global warming. The reason this is important stems from the ability for children to be able to understand global warming with some detail. Most of what is told to children about global warming can be very simplistic. In this case they explain they explain the purpose of greenhouse gasses and how it maybe growing in the wrong direction due to human actions. The chapter includes carbon dioxide levels as an example of the impact it can have on changing temperature. The article provide evidence to climate change with studied temperature changes from 1906 to 2006. Chapter 8 then goes on to explain how climate is studied using climate models, which are computer simulation on the different factors that effect the weather. It then takes you into what the future holds in regards to climate change, discussing how the temperature is predicted to get warmer worldwide. It follows a very clear order that allows the reader to gradually understand global warming and I recommend it to anyone who is willing to learn more about it. Something that an audience may have an issue with is that the chapter may be have too much detail for some individuals. Other than that, it is a great chapter to read.
