I serve as the STEM Outreach Specialist for Northern Kentucky University's Center for Integrative Natural Science and Mathematics where I head up the Next Generation STEM Classroom project serving 20 school districts in Northern Kentucky. I love teaching science and my passion in life truly lies in opening students' eyes to see science in the world around them.

These are great. Kentucky was fortunate this time to have some great through course tasks developed for teachers that are modeled after these and built into our state science assessment system.

One teacher shared this with me that she had hery kids make an ice pack using an endothermic reaction. Next year, I'm thinking about letting them choose a hot pack or ice pack. Our student growth goals this year are on planning and carrying out investigations so it has a lab component that ask them to write a lab to test the chemicals first before actually constructing their device.
