Life Science
Article: In this article, the author explains how humans have “copied” concepts from animals. For example, spiders use a zigzag pattern in their webs to prevent birds from flying through them and we used this idea to design window glass. Lesson Plan: In this lesson, students examine living things to decide if they are considered a plant. Students are asked to consider the characteristics of plants to classify living things. Webinar: In this webinar, participants discussed how bees can be used to teach life science and get students actively engaged with their work and the outdoors. Book: This book offers teachers lesson plans, examples, activities, and tips on how to implement problem-based learning in life science. Teachers are able to provide students with real-life, authentic examples to provoke thinking and help students come to a solution.

Students use their knowledge of patterns in space and Earth to investigate why the Sun is so big and bright. Webinar: In this webinar, participants discussed what’s new in Planetary Science and how this information is beneficial to share with students when learning about the relationship between Earth and space. E-book: This Interactive E-book shows students how patterns can be used to predict the positions of the Sun, Moon, and stars through solving mysteries about the objects in the sky.
