My NSTA / Peers / Rachel Zimmerman Brachman

I've been a member of NSTA for 15+ years. I'm past president of Science Education for Students with Disabilities, an NSTA-affiliated organization. I worked at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory for 22 years as a Solar System, Earth Science, Exoplanets, Astrobiology, and Technology public engagement specialist. I present at national NSTA conferences every year. I ran an international essay contest called "Scientist for a Day" for students in grades 5-12 and a national essay contest called "Power to Explore for U.S. K-12 students. I earned a bachelor's degree in physics from Brandeis University and a Master of Space Studies from the International Space University in Strasbourg, France. Born in London, Ontario, Canada, I currently live in the Los Angeles area.
