My NSTA / Peers / Emilly Carter

My concentrations are math and science and I prefer 6th grade and up. My preferred style of teaching would be PBL or inquiry in a student centered classroom. I want my students to explore and ask questions. I love playing games! My recent favorites have been Jack-in-the-Box, RimWorld, BackAlly, and Pandemic! I love almost every genre of music and movies (except horror). I would be more likely seen at a musical or comedy club than a sporting event.

I am also a preservice teacher. I am currently student teaching and my CT has two turtles and a snake. The students love them! She even uses them in the math class just to connect with the students.

I think that these stations would be a great way to reinforce all of Newton's Laws. I think it will help my students make connections to real life. I am really excited to try them. I am just not sure if I would prefer to use it as an introduction or a reinforcement.

Measuring Motion Review

This lesson summary successfully walks through all components of the lesson including pre and post assessment. The sample rubric details out clear expectations for the learner. The lesson starts with an engaging piece that helps students think about prior knowledge and individual experiences. Rather than ending with an explanation, the lesson takes students through elaboration as well.
