"Wacky Weather"
This was a very good read, the activity in this article is something that can be done over a period of time. The students conducted research, used charts and graphs to analyze their data (which is shown in the article), planned and created their own tests as well as team evaluations. The students were to create a type of shelter that would protect them from the “wacky weather”. They generated different tests for each of the shelters. Overall this activity is very hands on and engaging.

"Taking Math Outside"
I love the idea of taking the students outside to learn. This is a perfect time to allow them to participate in hands-on experience. The students can learn how to sort and classify objects. It is important to give students a chance to handle different materials, allow them to explore the objects, the way they feel and the way they compare to each other. Students will get to have that hands-on experience with classification which will help them remember how to classify objects and build schemas.

"Now We're Cooking"
It is important to allow young children to experience new things such as cooking. Cooking is a great way for children to become exposed to science. In this article the students learn how to make ice cream. This gives you the perfect opportunity to teach the students about properties of matter. This article provides you with step by step instructions on how to conduct this cooking exploration.
