Oceans's Effect Collection

Great collection!

The focus of this collection is on the effect of the oceans on the earth’s weather and climate. The articles contained in this collection provide a lot of necessary information that teachers can use and reference when teaching lessons on this topic. The science objects are a really great resource for information on the content, including vocabulary and interactive animations and visuals that can be used to add on to the lesson. The Podcast is a good resource for teaching about one specific ocean’s effect: the Atlantic Ocean. It allows teachers and students to listen to experts talk about how the Atlantic Ocean affects the weather around it and carries heat, effecting the climate. The article “Flooded!” provides some hands on activities teachers can use in their classrooms in order to clear up misconceptions and help students grasp the concept in a more concrete way. In all, this collection has many different kinds of resources that are cohesive and can benefit instruction.

Great!

I really like that your collection includes both content with the science objects and interactive lessons. The lessons and activities in the articles you have in the collection I think will be very helpful in showing students how food chains really work. The content is great for background and the activities are great for grasping the concepts in a very real and understandable way. It's also great how the different activities use different ecosystems, such as the coral reef.
