Hi Sean !
Teaching students to us all their senses in experiment is very important. Using the senses will help with observing every aspect of an experiment. Students will be able to focus on what they should be getting from the experiment which is new knowledge.

You could have the students do an activity on their own. The activity will assess whatever skill you want them to know. For example: if you are teaching them about the water cycle, have the students create a diagram of the water cycle and define each part of the cycle. The students defining each part of the water cycle, shows you that they know what each part does.

This collection provides an activity about learning the muscles in the body. There is another fun activity for learning about the nervous system in the body. One journal article that helps with the understanding of how food turns into energy.

The quizzes in between the readings helps to make sure that we understood the topic. This scipack covers every topic needed in order to understand energy in the ecosystems.
