The challenge of the Research and Education: Volcanoes, Exploration and Life (REVEL) Project, sponsored by the University of Washington School of Oceanography, is to teach, energize, and reinvigorate teachers, so that they can excite their students about the opportunities and challenges of studying marine science. The primary focus of the REVEL Project is to allow teachers to experience and participate in research conducted at mid-ocean ridge sites in the North Pacific Ocean.
