This article reads more like an editorial than an advise column, assigning responsibility for safety training to both the preparatory college/university and to the employing school district. While I happen to agree, it does not offer any suggestions as to how to locate adequate training for those who did NOT receive it at either location (like me), nor does it suggest how to receive updates through newsletters or actual on-site training. I was fortunate our local Flinn Sci representative took it upon himself several years ago to set up a safety training for teachers in our state. I would suggest NSTA conferences, contacting local representatives for science suppliers, or local universities or science teacher organizations if this is something you feel is needed. There are also several articles here in the LC on this topic
