by: Charles W. McLaughlin, Lauren Hampton, and Staci Moxham

The purpose of this photosynthesis unit is to stimulate students' interest in the process and concepts of science in fun and educational ways. Engaging young students in real, hands-on experiences with photosynthesis helps them remember the elements and processes involved. Through this unit, students learn the importance of responsibility, cooperation, and environmental awareness, and the study allows them to see the importance of human accountability in nature.
