Well-written chapter that provides general guidance about how to structure writing assignments for science class.The author characterizes students as "blank slates" as far as science writing is concerned. In order to overcome student anxiety about writing in general, he suggests beginning with simple topics and assigning the work- lab reports, essays, short answer questions, and research papers in a piece-meal format. This is a very helpful and practical resource for the new science teacher.
