With the premise that life exists in other worlds one has to consider extraterrestrial life and intelligence as naturally produced. Reading through this article one begins to understand what an astrobiologist actually considers to be what humans call life. From this foundation the author explores what we knew in 2003, when the article was written, about various heavenly bodies such as Venus, the Moon, Mars and the satellites of Jupiter and their ability to support life as we know it.
