This year we are celebrating the International Year of Astronomy (IYA). The IYA commemorates the 400th anniversary of Galileo’s first observations of the cosmos through a telescope. He never could have imagined how our view of the universe would continue to change over the years—up to the present day. To highlight this idea, the authors developed a set of curriculum support materials called Cosmic Times. These materials teach students about the process of science and help them to develop science literacy skills.
