Have you ever wanted to fly into a hurricane then this is the career for you. The significance of a meteorologists job is to try to understandings Earth’s atmospheric phenomena and how it these events can affect Earth and life on our planet. One such example might be the recent ‘Frankenstorm’ or what was called ‘The Super Storm’ that struck the North East quadrant of the USA. Meteorologists study global climate change in an effort to understand how this event occurred and to possibly predict such an event in the future. Reading this article helps a student understand how an interest can become a lifelong profession.

If one is looking for a way to connect careers with weather concepts, this article explores the qualifications and excitement of being hurricane researchers. As research meteorologists, these scientists will spend much time on their computers studying weather-related data and flying planes right into storms to study them up close and personal. The individual interviewed for this article had eye-balled both Andrew and Isabel and exclaimed that he “would much rather experience a hurricane this way, from the safety of a plane, than from the ground hit by a hurricane’s full fury.”
