It is apparent to any parent who has children in the PreK to 2nd grade level that young children are not afraid of technology but are actually attracted to it. The focus of this article is to provide an activity that uses writing and drawing materials. The activity will also have the children use technological tools such as a digital camera, video camera, computer, and printer to create a book describing a class science inquiry. Although the article is not a recent one it has relevance to newer technology and website and to supporting family interactions.

The author of this article posses some interesting questions...."What new technology is appropriate in an early childhood classroom? Will children understand the structure of a magnifying lens more easily if they use a hand lens versus a digital microscope? Should children build bridges with blocks, on a screen using software, or both?" She goes on to encourage teachers to use technology in their classrooms and gives some ideas and resources to help teachers determine what is appropriate for them.
