Controversial topics will always be a problem in a classroom especially since many people have their own personal as well as religious views. A prime example of this is teaching abut evolution. Instead of that word change it to something like change over time. That is more palatable. This article educates the read about ways to overcome controversy in your classroom. This article is a must read for all new teachers and might serve as a good reminder to more experienced educators.
