Students in one school were introduced to flight through the use of an old flight simulator from a museum. A technology teacher and the science department teamed up to write a curriculum. The children practiced on a wooden mockup of the real thing and engaging in four lessons where they learned: Parts of the Airplane; The Instrument Panel; Roll, Pitch, and Yaw; and Using the Stick and Pedals. Upon arriving at the flight center they participated in ground school with more lessons. It is an interesting tale about how Industry and Education come together to provide a unique experience for these youngsters.
