In this article, the author informs readers about how to program the collection of satellite imagery. While studying biomes, students learn how to submit collection information using EarthKAM. EarthKAM is a website where students can learn about satellites and enter information to control a specific picture to be taken by the satellite.I think this is a fantastic idea to allow students to interact with advanced technology.

Using the NASA ISS EarthKAM project students studied six different areas in their designated biomes through directly imaging of the planet. Students learned to use Groundtrack maps and analyzed data taken by the satellite. This project eventually evolved into a tool to support student discussions of geographic features and develop their understanding of the interrelationship of geographical location to climate and weather. The images are free to the public and it demonstrates the use modern technology as a tool to understand the planet we live on as well as how scientists use technology to further understand changes on the Earth.
