This article provides a great overview to formative assessments through the lens of an action research project. The author is very thorough in the presentation of research methods and conclusions. This article describes a seventh grade teachers research study to determine if she could create and implement quality formative assessment that will help her student be more successful on summative assessment. Using the data she collected doing her study she was able to provide a correlation between good formative assessment and the need to reteach missed concepts with the improvement of grades with summative assessment.
