This article is design to introduce the Internet resources to preservice teachers. Starting with well known and reliable sources such as NOAA and NASA preservice teacher’s then move on to activities. These activities include a Webquest, creating a web site, looking through authentic databases, and more. The purpose of these activities is to help the preservice teacher to extend the classroom boundaries beyond the classroom.

Sometimes it is fun to look back in time in order to see how far we have come technologically speaking. This article was written in 1999 and may have been the first glimpse some of us had into how we might use the www (wide world web) in our classrooms. Back then many of us were just beginning to explore this new tool. I urge those nostalgics to go back in time by reading this article in order to appreciate what is now available at the click of a mouse. This article, like so many older articles in the NSTA Learning Center, has relevance years later. There is even an “old-fashioned” web quest featured. Remember? We called it a WWW Scavenger Hunt.
