This article is detailed in its introduction of how to do a science fair project as a class. By doing this the students are exposed to a detailed experience of all the steps involved in a science fair project. It is a good approach to setting the scene for a science fair. But teachers should be aware that this is product testing and some science fairs do not allow product testing. It should be made clear to the students that this was just an example for them to learn the steps in a science fair project.

The class does the project together to see how it is done and thus provides a better idea of what is involved in completing such a project.
