Is it true that ‘we are what we eat?’ Many people believe that and the producing and harvesting of food for our country has vastly changed over the recent years. We have allowed big companies to control our food supply and with that and lower prices we have fallen into a complacent role in what we eat. As the author points out: “we have almost entirely severed our connection to the Earth and lost our understanding of what food actually is, where it comes from, and what its real purpose is.” Reading this article will help the reader understand the problems associated with that and how biodiversity has changed. This is a great article to use for students as well as educators.
