My NSTA / Peers / Christine Walsh

For 22 years I've taught 6th, 7th, or 8th grade science in VA, NC, SC & NY. Starting in the 14-15 school year I began as the K-5 science teacher at Berlin Elementary in NYS for 5 years. Starting in the 19-20 school year, I continued to teach grades 4 & 5 science and then began teaching grade K-5 RTI (Response to Intervention) Math classes.

If you can also have two sinks. At least one that is a deep sink. That's a nice feature to have.

You could have ice cubes in a baggie for each student & have them time how long it takes to melt & record what they did to make it melt. Then take some of the liquid water & put it into petri dishes or shallow containers & set it around the room and have them observe how much of the container is covered by liquid water & then discuss over time what happens to the liquid water.
