Great Resource for Teaching Density!

In my opinion, Isabella’s article collection is a great resource for teaching density in hot and cold water. Her collection is made up of 8 different resources including journal articles, book chapters, sci-packs, and a web-seminar. Her collection provides teachers and students alike different options for learning about density, which is great because it suits all learning styles. Her web-seminar is part 1 of 6 that discusses masses and density. This web seminar in particular is great for teaching because it’s in a PDF format, which allows for teachers to show students in class using PowerPoint. This web-seminar teaches about density through examples, graphs, and questions making it interesting and engaging for the students. Isabella’s collection also includes a fantastic sci-packs that teaches about the ocean’s effect on weather and climate through short passages followed by questions. The sci-pack’s information is presented in a clear and easy to understand manner that facilitates the students in understanding the concept being taught. Overall, her collection contains purposeful and ample resources for teaching about density to students in an effective and proficient manner.

Great Resources for teaching about Food Chain/Web

This would be a great collection to use while teaching about the food chain. The sources offered in this collection vary from chapter books to hands-on activities. The journal article called Exploring Animals, Glossopedia Style is great for students because its inquiry based and allows students to conduct research on their own. The book chapter called Insect Habitat Web is also a great source because it teaches students about living vs. non-living things but also includes a fun hand-on activity, as a method to have students better understand the concept of food chain. Lastly, I think that best of all is the science object called Interdependence of Life: Species Relationships because it provides teachers with an interactive inquiry-based review that will help when teaching about living organisms, both on land and in water. I think that the resources put in this collection does not only provide great ideas and suggestions to teachers but also exposes students to valuable information in a fun and engaging matter.
