Creating and intergrating curriculum for science is fun and interesting to get the students engaged, but when approached with ELL's in the classroom, they may not have the background knowledge to grasp the information needed. What are some strategies I can implement in the lesson so the students can better understand the curriculum and be more engaged?

An activity I would try to do with the students is to create the life cycle through a hands on activity while making observations from a book they have read to learn the cycle. Using different dry pastas, they will have four varities of pasta.
