Hi! Being that you are only able to teach science for 15 minutes each of the three days, I would definitely try and focus on one specific topic for each lesson. For example, if you are doing a lesson on energy, I would focus on one type of energy each session that the students should know about for their particular grade level and have them master each concept before moving on to the next one. Density in Hot and Cold Water Collection

Collection Review

The collection I reviewed was Isabella Pousada’s collection on density in hot and cold water. It includes a variety of 8 resource types that include information on density, such as book chapters, journal articles, a web seminar archive, and a Scipack. Each resource touches upon different aspects of density and provides great information on the concept. For example, one book chapter included in this collection provides information and an activity on cooking oil and how it compares to water. Another example is a journal article that provides detailed information on what density is and how to demonstrate this concept to middle school students by using a graphic organizer of mass and volume in order to guide the students in their understanding of the concept. All in all, because Isabella’s collection includes a variety of resources on the same concept, I believe her collection is a great resource altogether that can help her teach her inquiry lesson.

The Water Cycle Collection

Emily Rothenberg's Review on Gabrielle's Collection

It was evident to me that Gabrielle's Collection included information on the water cycle. Gabrielle included book chapters and journal articles that pertained to this subject. Each source contains detailed explanations on how to assess student understanding of science content. It also explains the importance of water and asks for students to investigate a question on water. This collection seems informative and the sources are all relevant to the topic.
