Hi all,
during my student teaching I have an eighth grade and the topic of the unit is natural selection. I also want to talk in one chapter of this unit about the evolution of the human. I know, that some parents have a statement against it. How do I deal with this situation? Should I short my lessons, talk to more the parents? I look forward to any suggestions and ideas.

I´m a education student in germany and have an internship in a middle school in Iowa. I wanted to ask you to what extent are everyday ideas included in the lessons? How you deal with these ideas and how do you survey (how do you find them out) them?
