I am a student teacher and I have been working on creating a science lesson for my 1st graders on animal habitats. However, I am stuck on creating a fun hands-on activity for them to discover the different habitats. Any suggestions? I feel like I have not been able to find anything helpful on this yet.

I thought I was the only one who was maybe feeling that way. I am preparing to teach my first science lesson and I am doubting if it will work. I think it is hard to keep 1st graders engaged for long periods of time. I think that what works in engaging little ones is for them to have a hands-on activity. Hi Amber,
Just like you one of my main concerns when I become a teacher is how will I get my students to like it. I learned science straight from the textbook and we had a few experiments here and there but science was just never very hands-on when taught to me.
