Using tools such as colored beads to represent DNA strands is a great way to introduce some genetics. I think it would be easy to remain unbias, and addressing that everyone has flaws, and there is no "perfect human"

Hi Harper - always start with the standard. That way you know that you are teaching the content that needs to be taught. Then conduct a pre-assessment to assess student knowledge. Then you should start your research! Inquiry based learning is always a great approach.

Inquiry-based learning is something that I am new to, and very interested in implementing into my teaching. I love the idea of having students learn for themselves. I think creating a question and giving them a scenario is a good start to inquiry based learning. I would give them different tools and let them choose how to try and solve their scenario.
