Teaching through trade books, love it!

Nicole, I chose to review your collection because it relates to my same content area (earth, sun, and moon). This resource collection is very well developed. After reviewing your resources I conclude that you will be focusing on the concept of earth, sun, and moon for your lesson plan. These resources are filled with extensive information that will guide you well into lesson planning. I enjoyed the journal article that discuses teaching through trade books and inquiry. I love the idea of using trade books to teach a science lesson. I also love how it includes trade book titles and resources that link with the lessons. This article and the collections have great ideas for teaching science to young students. I also enjoyed this article because it has lesson ideas on how to teach seasonal changes and provides great background knowledge for teachers to use when developing a lesson. Most of all I enjoyed that the article includes ideas to make a lesson inquiry. I also like the other resources that discuss teaching our content area through trade booth methods. These articles are very useful for lower grade level teachers. Overall, the collection has great resources to guide you into doing a lesson plan on the earth, sun, and moon for young students. Thank you for sharing such wonderful resources. I myself will be adding them to my collection.

Great collection for organism adaptation

Amanda, This resource collection is very well developed. After reviewing your resources I conclude that you will be focusing on the concept of adaptation for your lesson plan. These resources are very fruitful and filled with extensive information that will guide you well into lesson planning. I enjoyed the journal article that discuses the integration of the Nature of Science. The article includes a lesson on interdependent relationships and ecosystems that shows how students become explorers and analyzers in a science lesson. I also enjoyed skimming through the article Organisms K-4. Here you find some of the example that help teachers to develop meaningful lesson plans and activities that help students understand organisms and their environments. Overall, the collection has great resources to guide you into doing a lesson plan on animal adaption to their environment.
