Hello, my name is Alexis Reaver and I am an Elementary Education Major at Wright State University! I am very excited to be in my final year of school and am very ready to begin teaching next Fall! I have experienced both virtual and in classroom experiences while student teaching. I don't think either is better or worse, but dependent on what is reality. If we were always going to be in person, in classroom would be better. With this current world, we benefit from both types of instruction. We never know what type of teaching we will be doing and more and more I see virtual instruction...

I think the best way to engage parents in the classroom is to create an environment that is secure for parents. Start the beginning of the year welcoming your parents and requesting volunteers. Once you know where your parents are comfortable helping, you can tailor your requests to meet their interest and comfort level!
