How to include all students with diverse background in this era of testing and accountability was the take home message for me reading this lead article in this 2005 issue of The Science Teacher. The goal of this issue is to help teachers, especially new or preservice science teacher, understand the importance of multicultural education.

This 2005 issue of the Science Teacher is a review of multicultural issues over the decade before it was published. Multiculturalism is defined and the six Tenets of NSTA’s Position Statement are included. There is a sample list of articles published in the magazine about this issue. The chart is helpful. It tells the reader the name of the article, which Tenet’s it addresses, which science it addresses (I.e. biology, chemistry, general, etc.) as well as which group of students. This article serves as a quick and easy way to search for articles targeting specific areas of multiculturalism in education.
